Government representatives from Kingdom of Bhutan visited CARE Bangladesh

A 15 member team from Kingdom of Bhutan local government visited CARE Bangladesh's Journey for Advancement in Transparency, Representation and Accountability (JATRA) project area in Kashiram Belpukur Union Parishad, under Nilphamari district, Saidpur Upazila.

Citizen Engagement tool is one of the best approaches implemented under JATRA Project to foster Social Accountability in strengthening inclusive governance in Uinon Parishads. Bhutan team visited Bangladesh to learn about this tool and best practices. The project aims to ensure active participation of the community leaders, especially women, in key decision making spaces and bodies.

Local Government Initiative (LoGIn) Bangladesh organizes this 15 members Bhutanese Team visit in Bangladesh. Representatives from Bhutan said, we learned a lot from the JATRA citizen engagement in grassroots governance. They added, we will propose to our authority to imitate the CARE Bangladesh's experience in Kingdom of Bhutan's local governance framework.
