SHOUHARDO is reaching out to participants in 8 districts (Gaibandha, Kurigram, Jamalpur, Sirajganj, Netrokona, Sunamganj, Kishoreganj and Habiganj districts of Bangladesh) with preventative information on COVID-19. The project is doing the following to raise awareness:
SHOUHARDO III distributed posters on awareness on COVID19 in all working 947 villages, 115 union, and other public places. Disseminated voice message on COVID-19 and weather forecasting by RIMES to the 10,000 selected participants. Afterward, RIMES also reached out to 3,000 community group leaders from all the 947 villages’ program target who could then share the same with their family members and neighbors. SHOUHARDO III also made use of its existing partnership and collaborated with Radio Sarabela, a local level radio network based in Gaibandha district. They are broadcasting COVID-19 relevant information as a Public Service Announcement (PSA) along with their usual program. It covers about 25 KM of area, reaching out to eight unions. From the SHOUHARDO III participants, the PSA reached some 7,700 households with 34,000 people in total (mostly youth and adolescents).
