Salma is happy to serve the community

Ms. Umme Salma Akter, Age 20, lives in Khanjonipara village of BM Char Union, Chakaria Upazila under Cox’s Bazar district. After completing SSC in 2017 she discontinued her education. In the meantime, she learned the domestic care works from her mother. Moreover, she was very interested in social work. MPDS team selected her as a volunteer and provided her with a two-day training on Disaster preparedness and gender inclusion. The training has raised her confidence by improving her understanding of gender issues and roles during the cyclone and other disasters. She feels that every girl should participate in such kind of training to serve their community better. ‘I will share my learning with my community people and apply my learning in my family as well. Thanks to USAID’s MPDS for providing such nice training,”-she added.
