Women Lead in Emergencies (WLiE) is empowering women in disaster-prone coastal communities to take on leadership roles, influence decisions, strengthen community resilience, and drive positive change. Implemented by Jago Nari with technical support from CARE Bangladesh and funding from the Agence Française de Développement (AFD), the initiative is helping women amplify their voices and build confidence to lead solutions in their communities.

Recently, Earl R. Miller, Senior Strategic Advisor (Retd. U.S. Ambassador to Bangladesh), CARE Bangladesh, met with women leaders, community members, and local partners involved in the WLiE Project. He applauded the leadership and resilience of women who are driving meaningful change and strengthening social cohesion in their communities.

During the visit, he learned about women-led action plans, efforts to promote a more equitable sharing of care responsibilities, improved access to essential services such as safe water, and initiatives that are helping build safer and more inclusive communities.

Together, we are creating opportunities for women to lead, thrive, and shape a more resilient future for all.
